If you can, please do

I received the TKE magazine recently. It had the TKE Foundation report in it. It looks like we are about $1,500 away from Gary's scholarship reaching the minimum amount to start awarding to college students. If you feel like donating, please do. All donations are 100% tax deductible. You can give as little at $10.00 and can make a donation online or by mail. Online, choose "Chapter Scholarship Funds". There is a spot to make a notation - reference "Gary Dysarz Memorial Scholarship - Rho Tau Chapter". All online donations give you a receipt that you can print for tax records. If you are not comfortable donating online, you can mail in a donation to the following address:

TKE Educational Foundation
8645 Founders Road
Indianapolis, IN 46268

Make the same reference as online: "Gary Dysarz Memorial Scholarship - Rho Tau Chapter"

I greatly appreciate any donation you are able to make. I also understand if you are not in a position to make a donation at this time. I started this scholarship shortly after Gary passed and have been waiting awhile to see it mature and be awarded.

Do you feel lucky? / Answer the Call

Well, it's 7/7/07. The day that everyone feels is a lucky day. Seems like another day to me. Other than the Live Earth concerts. All day I have been thinking about Live Aid from the 80's. I found myself watching way too much of these concerts. It has also been educational about we as individuals can do to make a difference. Check it out. Answer the call.

Komen for the Cure

Elijah and I headed downtown early this morning to participate in Komen for the Cure. It was a great experience for Elijah. I have participated before, but it has been a long time. Thank you to those who made donations for our walk.

I'm still sick and now it's in my chest. Needless to say between that and the heat, I was pretty wore out when we got home.

Enjoy your weekend.

If you can, please do

I received the annual TKE Foundation report. I am delighted to tell you that Gary's memorial scholarship is almost at the minimum level to start awarding a scholarship to members in Gary's chapter. Currently the fund is at $3,247.63 (it earns interest). $5K is needed to start awarding the fund. If you are able to give anything: $10, $25, anything, please donate in honor of Gary. Any donation to the foundation is 100% tax deductible. You can mail in a donation or make a secured donation with a credit card online. Thank you. A link to do this online is at the top of this blog.

Feeling Charitable?

As I mentioned months ago, I started a scholarship fund in Gary's name via Tau Kappa Epsilon Foundation. If you feel like giving, click on the link, choose Named Scholarship Funds, and just before you get to the end, note: Gary Dysarz Memorial Scholarship - Rho Tau Chapter. Donations are tax deductible and it will help other Tekes (and hopefully Elijah) in the future, as well as carrying on Gary's name! Tis the season for giving!

Race for the Cure

Although my schedule has not permitted me to participate, today is Detroit's Race for the Cure. It's a great cause and has become very dear to my heart over the last six years. The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation also has items for purchase. If you are looking for a place to donate to, look no further!

Help Me Out Here!

As I'm getting used to doing this, I realized that it is time to ask for some stories. I need some on Gary. Please share . . . I really want to do this for Elijah. Also, on the subject, I started a scholarship fund in Gary's name via Tau Kappa Epsilon Foundation. If you feel like giving, here's the link. Donations are tax deductible and it will help other Tekes (and hopefully Elijah) in the future!
Thank you!
