Pinewood Derby

We participated in our first Pinewood Derby. Elijah took 2nd Place! 2nd place in his den and 2nd place over all the Tiger Cubs! Great job Elijah! Thank you to Grandma and Uncle Chad for helping out!

B&G Banquet

Tonight we went to the Cub Scout Blue & Gold Banquet. The food was not great, but we had good company. Elijah won a medal of honor for his popcorn sales -- highest in his den. The look on his face was priceless. We also got to see some Webelos earn the Arrow of Light. A very interesting ceremony. Not exactly how I would have expected to spend Valentine's Day, but it will do.

What a great weekend

This weekend was pretty full. We had some visitors on Friday and Saturday: cousins! It was a great time and Elijah had a blast. Saturday he took a swim test for his Cub Scout belt loop. He ended up also testing for his swimming/sports pin. The test included learning about water safety, sitting in the lifeguard chair and using the lifeguard equipment to "save" his instructor. Another proud moment and another realization that my guy is growing up fast. Too many emotions at once!

The Bobcat Badge

Tonight the Tiger Cubs earned their bobcat badges. What made it even more exciting is that their faces were painted like warriors! What an exciting night.
